What you can import
Paste an anime list or choose a .txt file. MediaTrack searches for anime matches, lets you review the catalog entries, and imports your selected titles. The text importer does not import TV or movie catalogs, MAL XML files, or arbitrary CSV exports. For TV and movies, use discovery; for a MediaTrack JSON backup, use the restore option in Settings.
1. Put one anime title on each line
A title on its own is enough. Add optional fields separated by a pipe (|): score, status, episode, and a note. Keep the title first; the other fields can appear in any order. Use the English field tokens shown below, even if your interface uses another language.

- Use a number from 0 to 10, such as score 9.5. A bare number is treated as a score, so prefix episode numbers with ep.
- Status
- Use planned, watching, completed, on hold, or dropped. Without a status, an imported title defaults to planned.
- Episode
- Use ep followed by a whole number from 0 to 10000, such as ep 6. Without an episode, progress defaults to 0.
- Note
- Other text fields become the entry summary. Blank lines and lines beginning with # are ignored.
2. Match and review up to 50 titles
After signing in, open Import from your library. Paste your list or choose the text file, then select Match titles. Review the title, year, and format for each suggestion, especially when a series has multiple seasons or specials. The first suggestion is preselected; choose another match or Skip this line if it is wrong.
Each batch processes the first 50 title lines. Split longer lists into batches of 50 or fewer, and remove completed batches before importing the next one. Duplicate titles within a batch are skipped. Adult titles are filtered unless enabled in Settings.
3. Import selected titles and check your library
Select Import selected to save the reviewed matches. Check your library afterward: progress, scores, and summaries should reflect your text. If a provider request fails, check which titles were added before retrying the missing ones.
Keep a copy you can take with you
Settings offers JSON and CSV exports. JSON is the restorable MediaTrack backup, including personal fields and catalog IDs. CSV is useful for reviewing your records in a spreadsheet; it is not an input format for the text importer. Keep exported files somewhere private because they include your personal library data.
